Molino scores twice as Minnesota stuns Kansas City in MLS playoffs

Kevin Molino scored two goals for the second straight postseason game as Minnesota United extended their unbeaten string to 10 straight by upsetting top-seeded Kansas City 3-0 in a MLS playoff game on Thursday.

Fourth seeded Minnesota advanced to their first MLS semi-final in their three year franchise history and won for the first time in Kansas City after losing five straight at Children's Mercy Park field.

They move on to play the second seeded Seattle Sounders on Tuesday.

Molino became the third player in MLS history to score two goals in consecutive postseason games. Emanuel Reynoso dished out three assists for the second straight match.

Molino scored in the 27th minute to give Minnesota the lead. He corralled a perfect feed from Reynoso and raced into the box, where he slid it past goalkeeper Tim Melia. It was Reynoso's eighth assist in his last five matches.

Reynoso then connected with Molino for his second goal in the 35th minute. Molino snuck behind the defence and redirected a shot past Melia for a 2-0 lead.

Bakaye Dibassy added a goal in the 39th minute.
